The mobile service week intends to give clients, especially those in the informal sector, the chance to sign up for the SSNIT plan and receive pensions in their later years.

You Also Deserve a Pension; Join SSNIT Today was the theme for the event.

The SSNIT Mobile Service Week is an annual event that gives its branches the chance to set up camp in different sites across the nation to bring the Trust’s services to its members’ and clients’ doorsteps.

In light of this, 69 vantage points have been chosen around the 16 regions of the country to offer services to members and clients so they can easily access the Trust’s services.

Among the services provided are the issuance of statements of account, registration of employers and employees, the beginning of benefits processing, the renewal of pension certificates, the merging of SSNIT and NIA numbers, and general inquiries regarding the business and operation of SSNIT.

The Paramount Chief of Kpenoe Traditional Area, Togbe Kotoku, praised SSNIT for their tireless efforts on behalf of the chiefs and residents of Asogli State and advised everyone to sign up for the program, especially informal workers, in order to benefit from it in the future.

Self-employed people make up the majority of the working population in the country, but the majority of them are not covered by social security, according to the Director General of SSNIT, Dr. John Ofori-Tenkorang.

He stressed, it is in the best interest of such people to sign up for the program and take advantage of the benefits.

Dr. Ofori-Koranteng emphasized that the SSNIT pension Scheme is one of the most reliable ways to lower and avoid poverty among the elderly.

He debunk the assertion that the scheme offers poor pensions, which deters the majority of independent contractors from enrolling.

The SSNIT say its website will soon have an improved and interactive self-service portal that will let scheme participants and clients carry out a variety of tasks.

Employees will be able to obtain, examine, and download clearance certificates among other things through these actions.
