Richard Kasu of CFF-Ghana writes…

In its press conference of Thursday, 19th October, CFF-Ghana highlighted key concerns troubling Ghanaians as reflected in its research findings. Amongst the issues highlighted were EC’s entrenched position of using Ghana card as the sole document for voter registration, unguarded public statements by some commissioners, and EC using IPAC as an ‘abusive’ platform for unpopular decision-making. Also, the appointment of known activists of the governing NPP as commissioners at EC is yet another troubling concern highlighted strongly during the dissemination preser.

One would have thought that under these troubling circumstances the EC will deliberately take some remedial actions to repairing its damaged image but sadly the EC is at it again with another ridiculous plan of NOT using indelible ink for its elections especially for the upcoming 2024 general election. Can you imagine?

Truth be told, EC is on a dangerous agenda of abruptly ending the forth Republican democracy and this must be a concern to well-meaning Ghanaians.

Ghanaians must be guided by the 2013 solemn declaration of African Union Heads of States and governments on achieving conflict free Africa. As such, I am calling on all progressive forces to take collective action against the EC to immediately abandon its populist plan of NOT using the traditional indelible ink used during all public elections in time past without any challenge.

It’s said that if it’s not broken, don’t fix it.
