The Ashanti South Regional Police Command has taken custody of two pump-action shotguns, 23 rounds of AA ammunition and three rounds of BB cartridges after they were discovered abandoned in a vehicle.
According to the regional commander, DCOP Joseph Nyaaba, the Fomena District Police Command recovered the weapons during a search of a car originally entrusted to a spare driver known locally as Zador. The vehicle’s owner had loaned it to Kwaku Zador on May 9, 2025, with instructions to return it by May 11. When the deadline passed without the car’s return, the owner traced the driver to Kwabenakwa and reclaimed the vehicle.
‘Following a search, we uncovered the two pump-action guns and the ammunition inside the vehicle’. DCOP Nyaaba told the reporters on Tuesday
Kwaku remains at large. Police have issued a warrant for his arrest and are urging anyone with information on his whereabouts to come forward. He is expected to assist investigators in determining how and why the weapons came into his possession.
