The Western Central Regional Police Command has arrested Isaac Duku, popularly known as Agoogi, the Assembly Member for the Tarkwa Bremang Electoral Area, for alleged involvement in illegal mining activities and the unlawful diversion of a public road onto his private land.
The arrest took place on 19th July 2025 at Dortaso near Tarkwa. It followed a complaint lodged by residents at the Bawdie Police Station on 14th July 2025, reporting that the suspect had redirected the main community access road without proper authorisation and was carrying out illegal mining on the diverted stretch.
Isaac Duku is currently in police custody, assisting with ongoing investigations.
