One person has been reported dead in a log truck accident at Bogoso in the Prestea-Huni Valley district of the western region.
The accident reportedly occurred around 1.30 Saturday afternoon at the Bogoso market round about.
According to the Prestea-Huni Valley district nadmo coordinator, Francis Abeiku Yanka, the log truck encountered some mechanical challenges climbing the hill at the market roundabout compelling the truck to reverse accidentally.
Francis Abeiku Yanka, said in the the chains holding the logs together teared apart thereby throwing the logs off onto a number of cars.
According to the report, the truck driver escaped unhurt but one taxi driver, who could hear the distress call was crashed to death.
The incident was the first in the area according to the district nadmo coordinator Francis Abeiku Yanka.
The police have meanwhile begun investigations into the actual cause of the accident.
