The Ghana National Fire Service has blamed the extent of damage caused by the Friday gas explosion on the failure of operators to comply with directives.
Preliminary report from the fire experts suggested that the fire was caused by explosion during the discharge of gas.
The Ashanti regional fire commander, ACFO1 Erick Giwah, told the media, all gas and fuel filling stations have been advised to invite the fire experts on standby anytime they want to discharge but that according to him, remained flouted by operators.
He lamented, the cause of damage would have been reduced if firefighters were present when the fire started.
ACFO1 Erick Giwah, also denied knowledge about any casualty or injury as a result of the fire incident.
The company has meanwhile, been ordered to suspend operation until further notice.
