The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has promoted seventeen (17) police officers in recognition of their outstanding professionalism and dedication to duty.

The promotions, effected on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, were awarded to officers who distinguished themselves in separate high-impact operations across the country.

The officers played critical roles in the interception of ten (10) wrapped slabs of substances suspected to be cocaine, with an estimated street value of 1,032,650.00 cedis, along with several sacks of suspected narcotic drugs at Ho in the Volta Region.
In another operation at Jacobu, the officers were instrumental in the recovery of an AK-47 rifle, a pump-action gun, and eight (8) live AAA ammunition during a routine patrol.

Congratulating the officers, the IGP, together with members of the Police Management Board (POMAB), commended them for their discipline, courage, and professionalism, noting that their conduct reflects the core values of the Ghana Police Service.

IGP Yohuno urged the promoted officers to see their elevation as a call to greater responsibility and encouraged all personnel to remain committed to excellence. He assured officers that integrity, hard work, and professionalism continue to form the basis for recognition and promotion within the Service.
