Ghana’s undefeated featherweight boxer, HolyDorgbetor, returns to the ring this morning in the Round of 16 of the prestigious WBC Grand Prix Tournament, currently underway at the Global Theatre Boulevard in Riyadh.

Nicknamed “Jaw Breaker”, Dorgbetor (14-0-1, 8 KOs) is set to clash with Muhamet Qamili (15-0), a southpaw from Albania, who currently resides in Italy. Both fighters come into the bout with spotless records, making this six-round featherweight contest one of the most anticipated technical matchups in the tournament.

Known for his sharp footwork and power punches, Dorgbetor secured a hard-fought decision win over Ukraine’s Oleksandr Solomennikov (16-0) in his last bout. Qamili, meanwhile, also defeated a Ukrainian opponent, IhorSemonchuk (7-0), in his most recent appearance, setting up this collision of equals.

The stage is set for a tactical war between two highly disciplined and gritty fighters, with both determined to protect their unbeaten status. As the saying goes in boxing: “Someone’s 0 has got to go.”

With Charles Quartey and Emmanuel Laryea in his corner, Ghana’s technical team is expected to develop a winning strategy to guide Dorgbetor to yet another impressive victory on the global stage.

Dorgbetor remains confident ahead of the bout and has promised fans an emphatic performance as he eyes the next stage of the WBC Grand Prix.

Earlier in the tournament on Friday, Ghana’s Shakul Samed made headlines by stopping his opponent to advance, further raising expectations for Dorgbetor’s performance today.

Stay tuned for updates from Riyadh as Team Ghana continues its quest for glory.
