Former President John Dramani Mahama continues to blame the Akufo Addo- Bawumiah administration for the dreadful state of the financial sector. He says the decision was reckless and politically motivated.
He further stresses that the government could have spent much less to save the collapsed financial institutions if the government had helped them in recapitalization and then taken the equity. The equity could then be released when they pay off their debts.
“The Akufo- Addo and Bawumiah government took the unwise decision to collapse these financial institutions and us liable for any outcome and cannot shift that blame on anybody.”
According to Mr. Mahama, Ghana needs serious and focused leadership to reverse the trajectory of economic collapse we have been set on by this government. He calls on the president to take control of the situation and to inject fresh reflective, and dynamic thinking into the management of his administration and the economy.
