the current economic situation in Ghana poses a grave danger to the country’s stability, minister for national security, Albert Kan Dapaah, has observed.
Speaking at the maiden graduation ceremony for the master of arts in peace, security and intelligence management programme at the University of Professional Studies, UPSA, the minister also pointed out terrorism in the sub-region also threatens the country’s security.
He therefore tasked all Ghanaians to remain vigilant and security conscious to help overcome the threats posed.
The growing rate of unemployment coupled with the current economic challenges according to experts have further exposed the country to insecurity.
The increasing threat of extremism and the act of terrorism in the west african sub-region has put ghana on high alert.
In view of the fast-evolving nature of security threats, it has become critical for the formulation of strategies that would ensure the peace and the security of ghana, and safeguard a secure environment for posterity.
It was in this light that ministry for national security collaborated with the university of professional studies, UPSA, to build a cohort of knowledge and skills in security readiness.
Albert Kan Dapaah, also tasked the graduates to be open to criticism and be transparent.
