Ashanti Police Arrest Five Suspected Robbers in Two Separate Operations

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested five suspected armed robbers in two separate intelligence-led operations across the region.

Briefing the media on Monday, December 15, 2025, the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Arthur Osei Akoto, said the arrests form part of ongoing efforts to clamp down on violent crime and restore public confidence in security.

Asokore Mampong Murder Case

Two of the suspects were arrested in connection with the robbery and murder of Silver Ngozi, a 28-year-old woman, which occurred on December 6, 2025, at about 5:00 p.m. at Asokore Mampong.

Police say the arrests followed sustained intelligence-gathering and targeted operations. Investigations into the case are ongoing.

Anti-Robbery Operation at Aboabo

In a separate operation on December 12, 2025, at about 9:00 p.m., a joint team from the Regional Police Headquarters and the Anti-Robbery Unit arrested three additional suspects at Aboabo.

The suspects have been identified as Samed Hadi, aka “Toronto,” 21, Satar Adamu, 22, Philip Nyarko Aka, Kagawa, 22, Salim Mohammed aka Mad Max, 19, and Iddrisu Farouk aka Kato, 22.

Items retrieved from the suspects’ hideouts include:

  • Fifty-nine (59) iPhones
  • Six (6) Android phones
  • Four (4) tablets
  • Five (5) laptops

Police say all three suspects have confessed to their involvement in the offences in their caution statements and are currently in police custody, assisting with investigations.

Public Appeal

The Ashanti Regional Police Command is appealing to members of the public who may have fallen victim to similar criminal activities in the affected areas to report to the Command to support ongoing investigations.

A statement signed by the head of the regional police public affairs unit, DSP Godwin Ahianyo, said all five suspects are expected to be arraigned before court in due course to face the full rigours of the law.

The Police Command has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining peace, law, and order in the Ashanti Region and urged the public to continue providing timely and credible information to support crime-fighting efforts.
