Upper East Security Council Calls for Calm in Bawku

The Upper Regional Security Council, REGSEC, has asked the people of Bawku to remain calm as it works to bring lasting peace to Bawku.

The council has also asked both factions in the conflict not to attempt to engage the military in combat, since that will be catastrophic on the part of the civilians.

The regional security council gave the admonishing after an emergency meeting on Thursday February 2, to review the security situation in Bawku.

REGSEC sympathizes with the bereaved families of all the unfortunate incidents and calls on the people of Bawku to remain calm as it works to bring lasting peace to Bawku.

the regional security council urged the factions to be charting a peaceful roadmap for bawku.

The REGSEC is meanwhile making arrangements to engage the people of Bawku with the aim of bringing down the tension in the area.

It also reminded the indigenes of Bawku and its environs to adhere to all the security measures put in place.
