The youth of Buipe in the savannah region demonstrate against the paramount chief of the Buipe traditional area, Buipewura Abdulai Jinapor II, over his decision to permanently allocate several hectares of land to Fulani in the area.
Over 200 personnel from the military and the police were deployed to the Buipe community ahead of a demonstration.
The demonstrators marched from the Buipe toll booth to the palace of Buipewura.

According to the youth, the unilateral decision taken by the Buipewura is in breach of the customs of Gonja and must be reversed.
The disgruntled youth also accused their paramount chief of appropriating various from royalties yet do not use the resources to fix social challenges in the township.
They called on the Savannah regional security council and the interior minister to intervene.
The Savannah Regional Security Council led by the regional Minister Saeed Muazu Jibril have since Thursday been engaging the youth to rescind their decision to demonstrate.
The minister, among other things raised concerns about the peace and security in the infant region.
Meanwhile, the Leadership of a Fulani group, have since disclaimed the assertion of the youth that Fulanis in Buipe have plans of appropriating some lands in Buipe.
A statement signed by the General Secretary of the Tabital Pulaaku International Ghana chapter, Yakubu Musah Barry, said people of Fulani extraction have coexisted peacefully and harmoniously with Gonja’s across Gonjaland without any conflict or infractions.
