Wa Mysterious Disappearance: Police Arrest one Suspect

The police has apprehended the primary suspect in the homicide investigation at Wa in the Upper West Region.

The suspect, Kankani Adongo, was detained today, September 19, 2022, in the Wa suburb of Bamahu.

This came after the police and community search teams had worked together extensively

“The suspect is in custody and will be arraigned before the court to face justice”, the police added in a brief statement.

Following a spate of homicides, police have already reaffirmed their commitment to upholding law and order in the Wa Municipality and nearby areas.

Specialized police intelligence and investigation teams collaborate with local residents.

In Wa over the past nine months, unidentified gunmen have killed 10 private security guards, with the most recent occurrence occurring last Friday.

This infuriated the local youth, who protested the frequent executions.

Ambrose Dery, the interior minister, has been meeting with representatives of the Waala traditional territory and has pledged to conduct in-depth investigations.

On Sunday, a body was found in a shallow grave at Bamahu, a suburb of Wa.

According to the police, the body was later identified by family members of the deceased as Seidu Baga who was reported missing on 16th September 2022.

After that, the body was unearthed and taken to the Regional Hospital in Wa for an autopsy and an inquiry.

Additionally, according to the police, the family will receive psycho-social care from clinical experts.
