Police Arrest Five Suspects over December 2025 Nkasiem Robbery

The Ghana Police Service has arrested five suspects in connection with a violent robbery attack that occurred in December 2025 at Nkaseim in the Asutifi North District of the Ahafo Region.

According to police, on December 2, 2025, the suspects, acting together with other accomplices and armed with weapons, blocked the Goaso–Tepa road before launching coordinated attacks on the Nkaseim Police Station, Adwumapa Cocoa Buying Company, Kobby Gold Buying Company, and the Asutifi Rural Bank area.

During the attack, the assailants made away with two AK-47 rifles and unspecified amounts of cash from the rural bank. They also stole ¢14,000 from the Adwumapa Cocoa Buying Company and ¢12,000 from the Kobby Gold Buying Company. An employee of the cocoa buying company was shot and injured during the robbery.

Following sustained intelligence gathering and forensic investigations, the Anti-Armed Robbery Unit arrested Mutar Kofi, 35, a commercial tricycle rider, on January 16, 2026, at a location known as “Ata ne Ata” near Nkaseim. Police say he admitted his involvement in the crime.

Further investigations led to the arrest of Mahamadu Sagio, 45, at Nkaseim; Shaibu Issah Jallo, alias Jibo, 28, at Chereponi; and Abdul Suleman, 40, at Tanga near Karaga in the Northern Region. On January 25, 2026, Bukari Sulley, alias Tailor, 25, a trader at Alaba in Kumasi, was also arrested in connection with the robbery.

Police say efforts have been intensified to arrest three additional suspects, Dauda, Mohammed Ali, and Hoyeefi, who have been identified as the gang leaders and are believed to own the stolen rifles and other firearms used during the attack.

The Ghana Police Service has assured the public that all remaining suspects will be arrested and made to face the full rigours of the law.
