Joint Civil Society Organisations has condemned the Tribal and Religious bigotry statement made by NPP Parliamentary Candidate for the Asutifi South constituency in the person of Ali Suraj, enticing Muslims to vote for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
At a press briefing, executive director for Community Focus Foundation Ghana (CFF-Ghana)Richard Kasu opined that Religious politics is burning grounds for unresolved protracted conflict in some African countries and Ghana must not avail itself for same because Religious and Tribal induced conflict come at a high cost.
He then call on the vice president and the leadership of the New Patriotic Party as a matter of urgency disassociate themselves from the reckless statement made by one of their own.
Mr Richard Kasu further urged the National Peace Council, Office of the National Chief Imam, Christian Council, Islamic Clearics and Peace advocate to condemned Ali Suraj unfortunate statement to woo Muslims to vote for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
