The Parliament of Ghana will from Thursday June 15, begin regional activities in commemoration of its 30th anniversary celebration.
The celebration is on the theme; thirthy years of Parliamentary democracy under the fourth republic;: The journey thus far.
The regional events will begin with a mock parliament at the Upper West regional capital, Wa on Thursday June 15, at 9.00am at the Wa regional Library.
This will be followed by a public forum in the Northern regional capital, Tamale on Friday June 16, at the Multi-purpose Hall of the university of Development Studies, UDS.
The guest speaker will be the speaker of parliament, right honourable, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin.
The event will move to the Upper east regional capital Bolgatanga, on Saturday June 17, with a peace walk, starting from the Regional Coordinating Council forecourt at 5.00am, through the residency intersection to the library intersection, and continue through ADB, central Mosque and end at mobil Park, where various fun games will take place.
These events and others to follow are meant to bring the parliament closer to the people.
