Dear Mr. President,

I bring you warm greetings from Community Focus Foundation Ghana (CFF-Ghana)!

I trust this letter meets you well in high spirits?

Mr. President, knowing how busy you are as the president of the republic, I will try to make my letter very brief for your kind perusal and action. This letter is  purposed to seek few clarifications to clear some doubts in my mind.

On Monday, the 29th day of June, 2020, you ordered the then Auditor General, Mr. Daniel Yaw Domelevo to take his accumulated leave of some 100+ days with effect from Wednesday, 1st July, 2020. Your action at the time generated varied reactions from  Ghanaians with some people including my good self  calling it populist political  move aimed at blocking the Auditor General from looking into some fishy dealings by your government.

True to my suspicion, Daniel Domelevo was axed from office unfortunately.

Government put up a high spirited defense to the roaring voices of Ghanaians on his eventual “sack” that he was 60 years and thus have to go on mandatory retirement in line with the Constitution of the Republic.

Your Excellency, in a recent sitting of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), the Director General of Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), Rev. Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah admitted he was 62 years in October, 2023.

This revelation raises the following questions for your kind answers;

  1. Why did you unlawfully sack Daniel Yaw Domelevo, the renowned Auditor at 60 but still keeping Rev. Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah at 62?
  2. Did your political axe fell on Domelevo maliciously because of his Catholic faith or Ewe ethnicity?
  3. Was Daniel Domelevo’s principled position to exposing wanton corruption under your watch the reason for his sacking?
  4. Is Ammishaddai being kept at GRA to cover up alleged shaddy deals by the government?

Mr. President, Sir, as your government and party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) wishes to #break the 8#, it will be in your government’s interest to clear the doubts in the minds of the millions of Ghanaian voters who are concerned about the infamous Domelevo sacking saga.

(Signed)
