Bawku town has yet again been in the news for the wrong reasons after recording substantial instances of violence, and clashes between some residents and the security personnel deployed to the area few weeks ago.
The town has been unstable for decades, following lingering chieftaincy disputes between chieftaincy feuding factions that claimed about 10 lives with many properties destroyed.
Security experts are warning of a possible risk of violent extremist attacks spilling over from neighbouring countries is high as parts of the country is currently experiencing localized communal, chieftaincy, land and intra-religious conflicts.
To this effect, Reverend Father Clement urged factions in the renewed Bawku conflict to put aside their differences and use dialogue to allow peace to prevail.
