Residents of Tuggo-Yoara in the Jirapa municipality of the upper west region are appealing for an extension of electricity to area.
They contend the absence of electricity is depriving them of some basic needs and income generating ventures.
Tuggo-Yoara is a predominantly farming community, with a population of nearly 3,000 with over 73 households according to the 2020 population and housing census.
However, the community lacks many basic social amenities including schools, roads, and electricity, affecting some commercial activities and education.
The chief of Tuggo-Yoara, Naa Baduuro Dagman Biwiara-Duo I, in his first public address after his enskinment, appealed to the Jirapa municipal assembly to facilitate access to electricity to the area.
The regent of Jirapa, Dinaah Justice Donglabong, urged the new chief to do more to unite his subjects to speed up the development of the area.
