A former ambassador of Ghana to Mali, and a member of the council of elders of the national democratic congress, NDC, Mahmud Khalid, has admonished members of the party to forge ahead in unity.
He noted that if the 2024 elections must be won, the party must deal decisively with threat to its unity especially from expelled former members who are bent on destroying the party.
Mahmud Khalid made the call when he addressed party functionaries after a mammoth unity walk organized by the party executives.
The walk was led by the NDC’s regional elections directorate in Wa.
The former ambassador to Mali identified some individuals and expelled party members as threat to party’s unity, admonishing them to desist from meddling in the affairs of the NDC.
The walk was organized to help bring members together to foster unity and oneness in the upper west region.
Members walked through some principal streets within the upper west regional capital, Wa taunting the success of the recently held internal elections.
The member of parliament for Wa East, dr. Godfred Seidu Jasaw, described the Nana Addo-led government and the NPP party as empty barrels that have nothing good to offer the country.
The regional chairman of the NDC, Abdul-Nasiri Saani, urged all northern sector chairmen of the NDC to rally behind former president John Mahama’s bid for the 2024 elections.
